National Service Scheme(NSS) unit, Youth Red Cross (YRC), Parent Relation Cell(PRC) and Indian Society for technical education (ISTE) of Vivekananda college of engineering and technology, Puttur in association with KMC Hospital, Mangaluru and Seeds of Hope, Muliya Foundation, Puttur has jointly organised “HAIR DONATION CAMP on account of NATIONAL CANCER AWARENESS DAY” on 07th November 2022 at 11.30am. Dr. Karthik K S, Consultant Surgical oncologist, KMC Hospital, Mangaluru was the resource person. He briefed about types of cancer, what are the precautions to be taken and when to approach hospital etc,..Ms. Isha Sulochana Muliya and Ms. Kanya Shetty from Seeds of hope was the chief guests of the program gave a insight on hair donation camp. Dr. Suresh Putturaya, Director, VCET Governing Council, Puttur also Consultant general Physician, Mahaveera Hospital Puttur was the president of the function.

Dr. Manujesh B J , HOD of Mechanical Department also Chief Coordinator of ISTE briefed about the program. Dr. Mahesh Prasanna K, Principal, VCET, Puttur was resided over the function. Mr. Keshava Prasad Muliya, Muliya Foundation attended the program and spoke few words about their foundation. Ms. Shrinidhi from AIML Department welcomed the gathering, Ms. Bhuvaneshwari from CSE Department introduced the chief guests and resource person and Ms. Sneha from AIML Department did the vote of thanks. Mr. Supreeth G S did the master of ceremony. Ms. Shwethambika P, Ms. Nisha G R, NSS Coordinator and Mr. Abhishek Kumar K, YRC Coordinator coordinated the session. NSS, YRC and ISTE department Coordinators, teaching and non teaching staff attended the program. Total 13 hair Donors from VCET,( 10 students and 3 staff) and 3 Donors from Vivekananda Degree College donated the hair for cancer patients.
